Slow down, eat well, live well

"I don't think it ever works to tell people what they can't eat. They can do it for so long and then they fall off. You have to bring them into a new relationship with food."

- Alice Waters, restauranteur, chef, food activist and 'slow food' movement pioneer.

About me

I'm Freia, I help women and men improve their health through clear, evidence based diet and lifestyle interventions.

I am a fully qualified, degree level Nutritional Therapist. I am registered with BANT – the UK’s professional body for nutritional therapists. I also undertake regular professional development training to keep my skills up to date.

With over years 30 years cooking for health and wellbeing I have developed a deep knowledge of the impact that good nutrition can have and am continually amazed at the results of putting this knowledge into practice.

By integrating coaching into my support for clients, goals are achievable and the process of getting there feels enjoyable and doable. My experience and understanding of how to put great food together is a skill I love to share so don't worry, I won't just be recommending green smoothies and Kale chips, (although I do love crunchy Kale!). Testimonials

"Meeting Freia, gave me such encouraging support through my work as a chef/guide at a Montessori school. She helped me embrace my confidence in preparing thoughtful menus and has helped me find my voice with regards to relaying important nutritional information and telling the story of our food to the young people I work with.

I find it much easier to learn from one to one connections and feel her voice resonates with me regularly. Her support has brought me fresh inspiration to honour every ingredient as a symbiotic event when cooking for any occasion.

She is warm, gentle and empathic. She held a non judgemental and inclusive space when we met as well as a very detailed report for me to refer to after our meeting."

"I was over 60 and in the doldrums! Well, I'm still over 60 (unfortunately) but my issues with mood and my unwillingness to get up in the morning have almost gone and I definitely have a spring back in my step. What is great is that I now know what I need to be doing to help myself and it is just becoming part of my routine. I have been able to take some control back in my life instead of feeling like I am just moaning to my GP all the time.  I wish I had found Freia 10 years ago, she has done a really thorough job in getting to know me and what I need. Thanks for everything Freia!"

"I contacted Freia with some niggling issues and immediately felt at ease. Freia’s deep knowledge of food and nutrition and the workings of the body let me know I was in good hands.

She is a gentle soul with a fiery passion for helping people stay well. Humble in her approach, she kindly guided me towards better ways of eating for my body type and age and I definitely felt better fast.

I will keep coming back to Freia, when things crop up, as I could not possibly expect to know the details of what’s good for certain conditions, in the depth she does. The right food really is medicine."
